What would be your ideal activity for a Friday lunchtime be?
A burger in Shepherds Market?
A massage in the therapy room below?
Or an 11 course taster menu at Japanese heaven, Wabi?
The latter? Well that’s exactly what I did last Friday. I ate. Not once… but eleven times. The Lent diet had begun and eleven courses was exactly what I needed to bring me back to reality.
Immaculate staff. Perfect temperature (somewhere too hot is one of my pet peeves). Fresh drinks. Brilliant wine. And food that blows your mind. Not once. But eleven times. Not that’s a date.
The vibe was more night time/ cocktails/ we’re going out after this. When I left I felt like I had been out all night. But with an extremely full stomach. And happy one at that.
Every piece of sashmini melted in your mouth. The sushi put Itsu to shame. The lobster and fries were my kind of dish. The wagu beef was unreal. The beetroot sorbet was perfect. The tiramisu ingredients mish mash was unusually spectacular.
I could go on but I would be here for eleven incredible hours. So here are some pictures instead.
I will definitely be going back for the food. But maybe at night next time. With some booze to wash it all down.
